Information on this website
Our articles, guides and price factors are general information about roofing, chimneys and decks in southeastern Pennsylvania. They aren't an inspection of your house and they aren't a quote. Every house is different, and the only way to know what yours needs is for someone to look at it.
We work to keep the site accurate, but rules, codes and permit requirements change. Check anything important with us or your township before you rely on it.
Inspections and estimates
Our inspections and written estimates are free, and asking for one doesn't commit you to anything. An estimate covers the scope, the materials and the price for the work it describes. It's based on what we can see and safely reach during the inspection.
Some problems stay hidden until work starts, such as rotted roof decking under old shingles or damaged masonry behind flashing. If we find something like that, we'll show you what we found and agree any change in scope and price with you before we do the extra work.
An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material prices and the condition of the house can change, and we may need to update it.
Contracts and your right to cancel
Pennsylvania's Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act requires home improvement contracts to be in writing. It also gives you the right to cancel a contract within three business days of signing it. Your contract will explain how to do that.
We're registered with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General under PA215236. You can look that number up yourself.
What we're responsible for
We carry liability insurance and workers' compensation, and we'll give you a certificate of insurance before work starts if you ask. When your township or borough requires a permit for work we're doing, we pull it.
We stand behind the work we do as described in your contract, including any warranty it states. Unless your contract says otherwise, we aren't responsible for:
- Parts of the house we didn't work on, or conditions that were already there
- Damage from storms, falling trees or other events outside our control after the work is done
- Work done by other contractors, or changes made to our work by someone else
- Delays caused by weather, material shortages or permit approvals
Scheduling
Start dates depend on the weather, material deliveries and, where needed, permit approval. We'll give you a start date when the work is scheduled and tell you as soon as possible if it has to move.
